This beautiful, must-see garden, designed by O. C. Simonds, sits on just under an acre of the 1880s Byron Laflin Smith estate, which originally stretched from the lake to Sheridan Road.  The home's origin is a gardener's cottage that survived the redevelopment of the street in the 1920s as an estate neighborhood. The rear garden is a large room with an arched west boundary, framed with varied evergreens in a naturalistic manner.  The current owner is very well known for his design and construction management work for many private and public gardens including the formal garden at Adler's Pike place, 955 North Lake Road, to the naturalistic ravine edges and reforestation at Lake Forest College to the superlative restoration work at Forest Park.

This event will be outside, please plan accordingly. Reservations are required and can be secured by registering below or by calling the Preservation Foundation office at 847-234-1230.  LFPF Members - $20.00, Non-members - $30.00.
