Summer Garden Stroll
The Preservation Foundation invites you to a late afternoon garden stroll in a beautiful garden in the heart of historic Lake Forest. Enjoy the spacious two-acre grounds on which Edwin Chapin built an elegant English Tudor country house in 1887. This peaceful estate was later named Shadow Lawn by the second owner, C. Frederick Childs, sixteenth mayor of Lake Forest. Much attention, detail, and love have shaped this garden into a paradise retreat.
