Market Square: A Century of Adaptive Re-Use and Preservation

On March 13, 2016, the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation will present a program titled Market Square: A Century of Adaptive Re-Use and Preservation. Speakers will be Michael G. Fitzgerald, Principal/OKW Architects, Inc., the firm in charge of the current Market Square renovations, and Arthur Miller, President of the Preservation Foundation and Emeritus Archivist and Librarian for Special Collections, Donnelly and Lee Library/LIT, Lake Forest College. Focus will be on the preservation and adaptive re-use of Market Square through the past 100 years, and on its future as it adapts to current needs while preserving the integrity of its initial design and purpose. There will be time for questions after the presentation.


The program will be held at Gorton Community Center and will begin at 2:00 PM.  Coffee and light refreshments will be served. While there is no charge for this program, reservations are strongly encouraged to make sure there is room for all. Please call the LFPF office at 847-234-1230 of email at
