Donation Options (COMING SOON)
Donations to the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation directly support preservation initiatives, educational programming, and advocacy efforts that ensure our historic places are cared for today and preserved for future generations. We offer several giving options to make supporting preservation meaningful and convenient for you.
Annual Fund
Annual Fund donations are fully dedicated to preservation projects throughout our community.
Donor-Advised Fund
Charitable grants from a donor-advised fund may be made to our formal organization name: Lake Forest Foundation for Historic Preservation.
Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
Donations may be made directly from your IRA to our qualifying 501(c)(3) organization, allowing eligible donors to receive tax-advantaged charitable contributions.
Gifts of Stock
The Lake Forest Preservation Foundation offers a simple process for gifting appreciated stock through Wintrust. Donors may receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock at the time the gift is made.

Façade or Preservation Easement Grants
Donors may consider granting a façade or preservation easement to the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation. This option, evaluated in consultation with financial and tax advisors, helps protect the historic and aesthetic character of your home in perpetuity. Please contact our office for more information.
Tribute and Memorial Giving
Tribute gifts honor a friend or loved one with a donation or annual membership made in their name—an ideal way to celebrate a birthday, recognize an accomplishment, or offer a meaningful thank-you. Memorial gifts provide a lasting way to remember someone who valued and believed in preserving Lake Forest’s visual history.

Becoming a member means becoming a partner in the Lake Forest Preservation Foundation’s mission to conserve and protect the historic visual character of our community. Membership support plays a vital role in advancing this work, helping to underwrite preservation projects and fund restoration grants that have supported treasured community landmarks such as Gorton Center, Ragdale, Elawa Farm, the East Lake Forest Train Station, and Walden Bridge.
